Why novels, especially after authoring so many textbooks?  To be honest, it's so much fun for me to do this kind of writing!  I decided to give it a try in 2017, and my first novel, Tequesta University, was published in 2018.  My second novel, titled The Last Page, is officially out, as of November 1, 2019!

High praise for The Last Page...!!!

5 out of 5 stars! (Goodreads)

Truly one of the best fiction stories I have read - mystery, thrill, suspense, everything was just awesome. It never let my energy down during the read. Scenes were clear and very well depicted in words.

Good job by the author!

Sun. Drugs. Murder. Academia! Ahem...what more can you ask for in this unprecedented times of lockdown!

I love reading fiction, and if it comes with a dose of academia, oh boy! I get mesmerized! This book was an icing on the cake, with a cherry on the top! I gleefully devoured in one sitting! The plot is well written and easy to follow. The events develop smoothly. The characters are likeable. There is no dull moment. I highly recommend it. A must-read!

5 out of 5 stars! (Amazon)

The Last Page paints a picture of a would-be idyllic life of a professor and his wife on the Florida coast who mistakenly get involved in a too-good-to-be-true book deal. The attention to geographical detail and the plot twists at every turn keep the reader tuned in to The Last Page.

I’ve always used well written fiction and mysteries to slow down and get my mind off of the world of assessment and accreditation. But to add in a dose of the real world of academia, that was the icing on the cake. Can’t wait to see what is Dr. McClellan’s next adventure!

5 out of 5 stars! (Amazon)

This book was quite enjoyable. I especially enjoyed the twists and turns that kept the reader wanting to keep reading. Anyone who enjoys reading a good mystery will enjoy The Last Page! I especially enjoyed the surprise ending as well as the attention to detail in the book. The Florida scenes made me want to return to see the sunsets.

4 out of 5 stars (Goodreads)

I started my academic career almost 3 years ago, but thankfully it's not as exciting as this one. I enjoyed reading this book, it was the entertainment I needed in a time like this. I liked all characters, but I think the detective is my favorite. It's written well, the events develop smoothly, and it has the right amount of suspense to keep you engaged. Glad I chose to read it.

4 out of 5 stars (Goodreads)

A murder mystery in the sun! When I picked this up I was not exactly sure how the mixture of academia publishing, sun, drugs and murder would work but I was pleasantly surprised by this read. The book is well paced, easy to read (always a bonus) and written really well; as were the characters. There is a good deal of suspense in the book as you would expect but it is evenly spread out throughout the story, keeping you engaged and reading until the end. A highly recommended lockdown read.

If you want refreshingly pulpy, popcorn Friday night reading, I highly recommend "The Last Page," which I gleefully devoured as a highly effective, thoroughly transporting antidote to a damp UK December.

Praise for Tequesta University...

5 out of 5 stars

Definitely a page turner. Thoroughly enjoyed this book. All of the characters were well developed. The story line was incredible. The sad part for me was that I finished this book in two days. It was hard for me to put it down. Cannot wait for the next book from this author. Well done!

4 out of 5 stars

The plot of "Professor turned student detective" kept me turning the pages of this book. An enjoyable well-plotted murder mystery with an array of creative, colorful characters.
